Garner, North Carolina Parks & Recreation Guide

Sometimes you just need to get out and blow off some steam in the great outdoors. Luckily, Garner NC has plenty of places to do just that. Check out Berkshire Hathaway Home Services’ guide to the finest parks Garner has to offer.

White Deer Park

White Deer Park has miles of color-coded trails, so it’s easy to navigate. Along the way, you’ll see placards providing information about local flora and fauna, so you can learn new things while you are out getting some exercise. There’s plenty of room here for Fido to romp, and the on-site nature center always has something interesting going on.

Pullen Park

Newly renovated Pullen Park is fast becoming a favorite among locals who are in the know. Paddleboats are available for those with a sense of adventure, not to mention a restored, 1900s-era carousel and a mini train. There’s so much to do here that you could spend an entire day, and still leave eager for your next visit.

Lake Wheeler Park

This long-standing area favorite has quite a devoted following. Local anglers can be seen casting lines when the fish are biting (and even when they aren’t). Kids looking for new friends are sure to find someone to play with on Lake Wheeler’s bright and cheery playground. If you get hungry after a day of sailing, the concession stands always have something that will hit the spot.

Lake Benson Park

This park doesn’t offer much in the way of walking trails; it’s more about enjoying the lake and the wide-open fields. The children’s playground is a popular haunt for local tots, and the placid waters of Lake Benson are an ideal focal point for an hour or two of quiet contemplation. Bring a kite or a soccer ball, because there’s plenty of space to frolic here.
