Greensboro, North Carolina Parks & Recreation Guide

Looking for a place to have a picnic, throw a Frisbee, or go for a jog? Greensboro has scads of inviting public green spaces. Check out Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Carolinas’ guide to some of the best parks in Greensboro, NC.

Center City Park

As the name suggests, Center City Park is in the middle of downtown Greensboro. There’s always something going on in this popular green space, from concerts to tai chi. The jumping water fountain is a big draw, pulling in curious onlookers with its elaborate aquatic ballet.

The Bog Garden

This small hidden treasure is definitely worth the hunt. Its wooden boardwalks, trickling creeks, and abundant local fauna are all part of the Bog Garden’s draw. It’s so tranquil; visitors often forget they’re in the city.

Hagan-Stone Park

Situated on 409 acres of preserved wilderness land, Hagan-Stone Park has something for everyone. There are trails for hiking and cycling, kayak rentals during the warm season, playgrounds, and picnic areas. If you can’t get enough of the park in one day, you can always stay the night. This huge park just outside Greensboro also has tent and RV camping.

Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden

The Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden is open year-round, and there is no admission charge. Its meandering paths and human-made stream make it a relaxing place for a stroll or meditation, and the sculptures placed throughout the grounds add an element of artistry to the pastoral green space.
